Welcome to the new Safety Advisory section of the Train Website.
Advisories published on these pages may or may not also be published in issues of TrainLine. These advisories would be issued only when it is felt necessary to do so. The key to posting will be based the need to post in a timely manner, i.e., how critical need is to get the information out.
It is hoped that members will get in the habit of checking the website frequently to be sure they are up-to-date on important matters.
In most cases these advisories will be generated by TRAIN and the Engineering Standards Committee, and in the case of Federal information will be generated by agencies like the Federal Railroad Administration, but not exclusively by the FRA.
Another aspect of having these pages is that of member’s contributions. In some cases we in the General Office or our Corporate Counsel may not be aware of an issue. Therefore it is very important for the membership to advise the TRAIN General Office of issues that would affect operations and/or safety.
The long range hope is that these new additions will become an important member service.
Remember, the Association only becomes stronger when we all work together.
